The tourist village is dominated by the crenelated bell tower of the San Sebastiano Church.
In the historic centre you will find showcases of handicrafts and sportswear, disco, pubs, wine bars, renowned restaurants, restored period palaces, elegant villas and modern sports facilities.
Among them the futuristic ice stadium, even open for summer ice skating, and a public indoor pool with indoor and outdoor jakuzzi tub.
Alpe Cermis lift facilities take off from Cavalese, and bring skiers and hikers to the slopes and trails with spectacular high altitude views. The Cavalese cabin lift also allows to reach the valley bottom, which is crossed by the Dolomite bike trail in summer and by the X-country track Marcialonga in winter.
A few steps from the centre you find the park area “Pieve” with the Arcipretale Church of Saint Maria Assunta, dating back to 1112, and the "Banco de la reson - the Bar of Reason -". It used to host the meetings of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme - an institution dating back to the 12th century.
Guided and theatrical tours are offered in the “Magnificent Community Palace”, hosting a museum-pinacoteca and nineteenth-century prisons.
Close by, in another historical building is housed the contemporary art centre.
Cavalese offers some extremely pleasant and scenery walks.
Among the most admired natural beauties, the waterfall of Cavalese and the ancient tree "Pezo of Gazolin".
